FAQ
Here are answers to frequently asked questions. If your question isn’t answered here, just email us at artbuggy@gmail.com!
Q: I have no mechanical or building skills, I can't build a buggy!
Sure you can. Most of the buggys are pretty lowtech. A buggy can be anything with wheels... a skateboard, mop bucket, etc. For example, take a look at what people did last year.
Q: Can my buggy draw its art on the ground?
Def no. Buggys are not to deface the park in any way.
Q: Are you putting paper down on the race track?
No way - this is part of the challenge, your buggy should not make marks that are left on the park grounds but rather on a "canvas" that is internal to or part of your buggy.
Q: Can I use a bike for my buggy?
Yes, as long as it’s powered by human feet (as opposed to gas). But dont forget judges will tend to award more points for originality.
Q: Can my buggy make sound instead of physical art?
Buggys need to produce something tangible that you can show to the judges and the crowd. If you’re buggy also makes sound… (bonus points).
Q: Where exactly is the event being held?
The exact location is being kept secret for now but it will be on the grass in a park in center city Philadelphia. Exact location will be announced shortly before October 19.
